Orange Blossom Honey
Place of origin/Period: Sicily province of Catania (April-May),
Calabria (end of May)
Produced between April and May according to the area, our Orange Blossom Honey represents more than others the sun and scents of the southernmost regions of Italy, Sicily and Calabria. It is light in colour and of a creamy consistency, its scent an unmistakeable reminder of the intoxicating perfume of orange blossoms. The taste is slightly fruity and pleasantly acidulous.
Sizes available: 400 gr.
Properties: Cicatrizant, antispasmodic, sedative. It is used as a remedy for insomnia and for nervous excitement.
Recipe: Buffalo ricotta with almonds and orange blossom honey
300 g Buffalo ricotta cheese
4 level spoonfuls of toasted flaked almonds
2 spoonfuls of orange blossom honey
Sieve the ricotta and mix it with half of the honey and the almonds. Divide it into 4 cups and keep it in the fridge for two hours. Garnish with the remaining almonds and a drizzle of honey.
